Brian and I celebrated our five-year anniversary last month. We didn’t go on a honeymoon when we got married, so we thought it might be a good time for us to go on a little getaway, just the two of us. We dropped Thing One and Thing Two off at the grandparents’ for the weekend and headed east to Natchez, Mississippi. We were heading for Le Jardin Bed and Breakfast and some “us” time!
We arrived late Friday evening.
Breakfast was included in our stay, and oh, what breakfasts they were! Saturday morning we had strawberries and cream, banana pancakes, a ham and cheese omelet, and grits. (Even Brian, who is not particularly a fan of the grit, said they were good – that’s high praise from him!) We were so stuffed, I didn’t think I’d need to eat lunch! It was an excellent start to the day, and Sunday’s breakfast of pecan French toast was just as good.
True to its name, Le Jardin has a lovely garden that features several varieties of roses. I don’t know a lot about roses, except that they smell good and look pretty, but I can imagine that the garden here would be spectacular when it’s in full bloom. Sadly, we were a bit early for that. Maybe we can catch more of the flowers on our next visit!
We found Le Jardin to be a lovely restful oasis and a heck of a value for the price (it was one of the more affordably prices places I found, and I looked at a lot!). I’d stay there again, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while visiting Natchez.
